A while back, I made my grandparents an embroidered bird Christmas ornament. This year, my grandma asked me to make another so she can send it to her sister. She wanted a near exact repeat of the one I made before so that's what I'm working on today. I've gotten this far:
I'm altering it a little bit to include an open beak and more detailed feathers. I think this one will be better than the old one.
I added a variety of items to the shop and website today including a woven key chain, an embroidered pin, andan embroidered hoop art.
I also added photos of this which I added to my shop several days ago:
This is my first successful weaving off my new large loom! (I made one and took it off the loom but it is not as good which is why I consider this my first 'successful' large weaving. I will make a post about the other one soon.)
It is hanging from a kulu stick which is 18.5 inches long. I used a variety of yarns and some rope to weave with. Above you can see the orange and cream rope I used.
The weaving itself is 13 inches wide and 24 inches from the stick to the bottom of the fringe.
I'm very excited about this weaving. It went in a bit at the top but I think it still looks great - the shapes are like mountains or hills.
